Dette videregående Azure kursus er især rettet mod ’Infrastructure as a service’ som cloud model. ’Infrastructure as a service’- cloud modellen karakteriseres i korte træk ved, at Microsoft stiller hardware til rådighed; resten skal man selv klare. Det er derfor den cloud model, hvor man som systemadministrator har størst kontrol, på trods af at man anvender Azure platformen. Det betyder, at du som systemadministrator i en sådan service-model bl.a. ansvarlig for at installere operativsystemer, binde servere sammen i netværk og administrere Active Directory. På kurset vil du derfor blive præsenteret for relevante begreber og termer indenfor ovenstående ansvarsområder. Samtidig vil der være god mulighed for at få dybdegående hands-on erfaring med opsætning af virtuelle servere og sammenkobling af serverne i netværk. Derudover vil man på kurset blive klogere på administration og styring af et Azure service abonnement. Man vil yderligere lære at implementere løsninger med datalagring, og man lærer at foretage back up samt deling af data i Azure. Da en organisation sjældent har kapacitet til at rykke alle sine løsninger i cloud med det samme, kommer man i systemadministratorrollen til at sidde som en slags mellemmand med on-premise løsninger på den ene side og Azure på den anden. Denne rolle skal man kunne påtage sig ved transitionen fra on-premise til Azure, og det forsøger kurset at gøre deltageren klar til. Azure muliggør dynamisk skalerbare og fleksible IT-løsninger. Men med implementeringen af Azure løsninger følger det, at man så at sige kun ’får hvad man betaler for’. På dette kursus får du derfor en forståelse af de overvejelser, man skal gøre sig ved brug af Azure Services, bl.a. med hensyn til økonomiske omkostninger samt opgave- og ansvarsfordeling.
